Drawing inspiration from Khyam Allami's decolonized approach to making microtonal music with algorithmic tools, off work explores un-gridded, unconventional, and hypnotic rhythms that challenge perceptions of groove.
Using sampling as a practice that extends beyond reusing recordings of musical material, he resampled noisy field and studio recordings and his own MIDI performances (made with no metronome for reference), brute-forcing head bobbing through repetition of selected fragments.
For those who revel in the embrace of noise-rich and saturated textures, Maraud's music seeks to express the inherent imprecision of felt digital rhythms as quantum superposition of grooves and ungrooves.
It is minimal music for the tweaked-out, working memory-challenged ADHD nerd.

It is footwork made with your non-dominant foot leading your board.
